Annie Laurie’s Fashion Video Premiere

Annie Laurie’s Antiques is thrilled to launch our first video!

All the vintage clothing and accessories in this video can be found in the shop. There is a variety to choose from and all of them are one-of-a-kind. When it comes to Annie Laurie’s we do not believe in the phrase: ”less is more”, come on fashionistas…go BOLD or go home! During the development of this video we chose clothing that is perfect for all summer occasions, such as a night on the town or lounging by the pool.

The model in the video is the stunning Megan Kathleen Dillingham and she had so much fun dancing along to the music, while showcasing some of the clothing and accessories Annie Laurie’s has to offer! This video would have never been possible without the talent of Jenny Martinez. She is both an extraordinary videographer and photographer.

May Blog Fashion Spread:
“A Vintage Love Story”

Check out the gorgeous clothing and accessories in this May Blog Fashion Spread.

We have so many options to choose from at the amazing shop on the corner, Annie Laurie’s Antiques.

This shoot took place on a beautiful afternoon in downtown Cape Girardeau. “A Vintage Love Story” was based on a boy and girl who met for the first time in a park and then keep meeting there everyday for a week, while falling in love with one another.

The main goal of this shoot is to showcase all of the wonderful spring/summer clothing and accessories that Annie Laurie’s has to offer. Throughout the shoot there was not a specific trend that was being displayed because Annie Laurie’s is all about wearing what makes you feel amazing and not just following the trends.

The lovely model, Madeline Jones, wore a variety of dresses such as: mini, maxi, and knee length. The color selections were everything from pastels to darks due to all the different options at Annie Laurie’s! Accessories are a must for any ensemble because they complete the look. Hats, earrings, straw purses, and necklaces were the main focus in Madeline’s wardrobe for the love story photo shoot. The handsome model, Andrew Shupert, displayed some of the button up shirts we have available at Annie Laurie’s; the shirts included fabrics such as jean and khaki. Many of these button ups can be worn in both a casual or formal setting. The short-sleeved button ups are great for a date night during the summer; just add a fedora or watch to complete the look!

It is finally picnic weather! Annie Laurie’s has a wide range of large, medium, or small picnic baskets that can create the perfect setting for your day out.

Most of the clothing and accessories you see in this shoot are available to buy at the shop today.

April Blog Fashion Spread:
“A Night on the Town”

Check out the funky clothing in this April Fashion Spread. There are tons of clothing and accessories that are both stylish and rare at Annie Laurie’s.

We have so many options to choose from at the amazing shop on the corner, Annie Laurie’s Antiques.

This shoot took place in St. Louis in the studio of the band, Media Ghost, who is featured in the April Fashion Spread. During this shoot we wanted to show you how to rock the “trendy look” because these looks are seen in a variety of fashion collections. To add, these get-ups can be worn in everyday life! The lead singer of Media Ghost is seen wearing chic dresses, jackets, rings, earrings, scarves, belts, and boots. Accessories were a major factor in this April shoot; if an outfit is dull in color then spice it up with some colorful belts, rings, and scarves! A major fashion trend for every season is wearing scarves for accessories; as well as wearing  boots with both skirts and dresses to break up the outfit in an interesting way. Also, head-wear is something to never stay clear of… make sure to show off your personal style with a head scarf or hat!

The band members can be seen wearing stylish button-ups with grungy t-shirts, impressive jackets, vests, ties, and hats. Men can add accessories to every outfit as well such as: ties, rings, hats, belts, and necklaces. It is important to know your style and embrace it, but do not be afraid to change it up a little! While shooting Media Ghost we wanted to show off all of the eccentric items that can be found at Annie Laurie’s. Some of Annie Laurie’s lamps added some flavor to the shoot and they can add flavor to any of the rooms in your home

Most of the clothes and accessories you see in this shoot are available to buy at the shop today. Prices at the bottom of the page.

Let’s Talk…Scarves

Scarves, scarves, and more scarves! We have plenty to go around at Annie Laurie’s and they are all beautiful! There are tons of different ways to either wear or display your scarves. If you think back to a different time, all the women would wear beautiful scarves all the time, perhaps tied on their handbag or tied in their hair. Well, now the scarf-wearing trend is back! Scarves are a must-have in every wardrobe. Scarves can add some flavor to any outfit that looks dull. At Annie Laurie’s, we have tons of colorful scarves that will fit any occasion!

Some examples of how to wear scarves:
●     Hair Bow – Take inspiration from the 1940s and tie your scarf around your head with the bow on top. This look is great with hair up or down, and you can experiment with the size of the bow by wrapping the scarf various times at the nape of the neck.

●     Turban – Whether you use a square or long scarf, a turban is another way to draw the eye upwards while adding texture, pattern or color to your look. Twist the ends of the scarf above your forehead and tuck or tie the loose parts at the nape of the neck.

●     Neck – Tying a scarf around your neck is a cute way to spruce up a plain top. Choose complementary colors or show off the art of contrast.

●     Waist - Long scarves in light fabrics like silk or rayon can also be used to define the waist. Just tie into a bow off to the side at the smallest part of your torso.

●     Purse – Don’t wanna wear the scarf? You can still partake in this trend by choosing a fun scarf that complements your handbag. Just wrap it around the handles of your purse and voila, your handbag is instantly transformed
